Job summary

Avina in Penrith is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our established multidisciplinary team. You’ll provide clinic, community and home-based therapy across Western Sydney, Nepean, Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains, with support from a connected MDT and ongoing professional development.

We welcome new graduates through to experienced OTs, offering structured supervision, strong teamwork, and a rich caseload designed to build confidence and independence for participants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy.
• Current AHPRA registration, or eligibility if graduating.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
• Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for community appointments.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A curious, collaborative and person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strengths-based, person-centred Occupational Therapy across clinic and community settings.
• Work with participants across the lifespan and a broad range of presentations.
• Complete assessments, intervention planning and ongoing therapy.
• Support participants to build independence and achieve meaningful everyday goals.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers and other stakeholders.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our established multidisciplinary team in Penrith, working across a flexible mix of clinic, community and home-based therapy throughout Western Sydney, Nepean, Hawkesbury and the Blue Mountains.

You’ll work across the lifespan with a varied caseload shaped around participant needs and your clinical interests. The team has experience across Functional Capacity Assessments, assistive technology and equipment prescription, sensory and mobility assessments, falls prevention, and fine and gross motor development.

It’s a great option for an OT who enjoys community practice but also wants a local clinic base and a genuinely connected MDT around them.

One of the real strengths of this role is the team you’ll be joining.

The Penrith team brings together OTs, Speech Pathologists, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Psychology and Physiotherapy, with plenty of opportunity for genuine multidisciplinary work.

The team describes itself as supportive, collaborative and purpose-driven, with plenty of humour along the way. There are fortnightly team meetings, regular team lunches and activities, and discipline-specific Communities of Practice. Many team members have also been with the organisation for three years or longer.
