Job summary

Women’s and Children’s Health Network in Adelaide CBD is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality OT services to children and young people with concussion and mild to moderate brain injury. The role involves working within paediatric rehabilitation and a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting.

The job is part-time (0.3–0.4 FTE) on a fixed-term contract until 05 September 2027, with opportunities to contribute to diverse paediatric programs and family care planning.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Provision of high quality, efficient and effective Occupational Therapy services
  • Knowledge of paediatric OT rehabilitation theories and models

About the role

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of high-quality occupational therapy services to children and young people with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury and concussion.

AHP1 –
Key duties of the role
  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to patients presenting with concussion and mild to moderate acquired brain injury, and complex rehabilitation needs
  • Contribute to a positive multi-disciplinary team environment
Skills and Experience
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Provision and promotion of high quality, efficient and effective Occupational Therapy services
  • Relevant Paediatric Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation theories and models
AHP2 –

  • Contribute to a positive multi-disciplinary team environment.
Skills and Experience

  • Ability to ensure the provision and promotion of high quality, efficient and effective Occupational Therapy services to children and young people with acquired brain injury and their families.
  • Experience in working in an acute hospital setting and working with children, adolescents and their caregivers in a health and/or welfare setting
  • Knowledge of community resources related to the health and welfare of adolescents, children and their caregivers
  • Knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy rehabilitation and paediatric theories and models
