Job summary

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network in Adelaide is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality services to children and young people with concussion and brain injury as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires registration as an OT with Australia’s OT Board, strong communication skills and experience with paediatric rehabilitation; part-time 0.3–0.4 FTE fixed-term until 5 September 2027, with excellent salary packaging and staff benefits.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification entitling registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Provision and promotion of high quality, efficient and effective Occupational Therapy services.
  • Knowledge of paediatric Occupational Therapy rehabilitation theories and models.

About the role

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of high-quality occupational therapy services to children and young people with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury and concussion.

AHP1 –
Key duties of the role
  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to patients presenting with concussion and mild to moderate acquired brain injury, and complex rehabilitation needs
  • Contribute to a positive multi-disciplinary team environment
Skills and Experience
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia

  • Experience in working in an acute hospital setting and working with children, adolescents and their caregivers in a health and/or welfare setting
  • Knowledge of community resources related to the health and welfare of adolescents, children and their caregivers
  • Knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy rehabilitation and paediatric theories and models
