Job summary

The CAMHS Clinician – Occupational Therapy role at Women’s and Children’s Health Network in Adelaide is responsible for delivering specialist mental health care to children and adolescents with complex needs. You will provide therapeutic assessments and interventions and work under supervision within a multidisciplinary team.

The position offers salary classification AHP2 with a salary range of $94,997 to $110,052 plus 12% superannuation, salary sacrifice benefits, and relocation support may be

Qualifications

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification with OT registration.
  • Demonstrated competence in occupational therapy assessment and treatment.
  • Clinical experience managing complex child and adolescent mental health issues.
  • Experience delivering assessments, interventions and therapeutic programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with families and external agencies.

About the role

The CAMHS Clinician – Occupational Therapy is professionally responsible for the outcomes of clinical practice for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy. The CAMHS Clinician – Occupational Therapy is operationally accountable to the Clinical Services Coordinator, and professionally to the Senior Occupational Therapist, for delivering specialist child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with complex needs.

Key duties of the role
  • Provide therapeutic and clinical assessment and intervention services to children, adolescents and their families, while providing professional consultancy on clinical and related matters
  • Ensure culturally responsive service delivery while providing professional supervision, training and education to staff
  • Contribute to research and evaluation programs, regional team administration, and the provision of clinical expertise within a learning environment
  • Support individual professional development and education while contributing clinical expertise to quality management initiatives that enhance mental health practice and service delivery
Skills and Experience
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Australia
  • Demonstrated competence in occupational therapy assessment and treatment
  • Clinical experience managing complex child and adolescent mental health issues
  • Demonstrated experience delivering assessments, interventions and therapeutic programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with families and external agencies
