Job summary

Talenza is seeking an Observability Engineer to advance our Dynatrace-driven monitoring across complex, enterprise-scale environments in Sydney. This hands-on contract role focuses on maturing how we monitor, diagnose and improve reliability of critical platforms, collaborating with infrastructure, cloud and development teams.

You'll design and tune Dynatrace deployments, build meaningful dashboards, and reduce alert noise while embedding observability into delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Dynatrace experience in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience configuring OneAgent, dashboards, alerting and service monitoring.
• Ability to translate telemetry into operational insights.
• Broad infra knowledge across cloud, OS, networks, apps and DBs.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Azure/AWS, CI/CD or IaC is valuable.
• Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.

Are you an Observability Engineer who enjoys getting beneath the surface of complex environments, turning data into insight and helping teams prevent issues before customers feel them?

This is a hands-on contract opportunity within a large, enterprise-scale financial-services environment undertaking a meaningful uplift in observability capability. You'll work closely with infrastructure, cloud, application and engineering teams to mature how the organisation monitors, diagnoses and improves the reliability of critical platforms.

You'll be the Dynatrace specialist in the room: helping teams get genuine value from the platform rather than simply generating more alerts.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, configuring and optimising Dynatrace across complex application and infrastructure environments
• Building meaningful dashboards, service flows, alerting and reporting for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Implementing and tuning monitoring across cloud, on-premise, containers, middleware, databases and customer-facing applications
• Using Dynatrace capabilities such as OneAgent, Davis AI, DQL, custom metrics, management zones and SLOs
• Investigating performance, availability and capacity issues, helping teams identify root cause quickly
• Reducing alert noise and improving incident detection, triage and response
• Working with engineering and platform teams to embed observability into delivery and operational practices
• Driving standards, documentation and practical uplift across the broader monitoring capability

What we're looking for

• Strong, hands-on Dynatrace experience in a large or complex enterprise environment
• Experience configuring OneAgent, dashboards, alerting, management zones, custom metrics and service monitoring
• Ability to translate technical telemetry into clear operational insight and actionable recommendations
• Broad infrastructure understanding across cloud, Windows/Linux, networking, application stacks and databases
• Experience with modern engineering environments such as Kubernetes, Azure/AWS, CI/CD or infrastructure as code would be highly regarded
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the confidence to work with engineers through high-priority production issues
• Great stakeholder management-you can challenge constructively, explain the "why," and bring people with you
