Job summary

AXR Group Pty Ltd’s Planet Herb division seeks a nutrition science specialist to provide input to product development and client projects. You will review nutrients and research evidence to support claims and ensure regulatory compliance under TGA guidelines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in nutrition or related field, with APD status preferred, and strong written communication. Experience with dietary supplements is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in nutrition, dietetics or nutrition science.
• APD status preferred.
• Strong evidence-review experience.

Responsibilities

• Review nutrient doses, ingredient combinations and upper intake levels for new products.
• Research and summarise scientific evidence for ingredients and proposed health claims.
• Support regulatory and marketing teams on compliant wording of claims under TGA rules.
• Prepare nutrition and technical briefs for clients.
• Support clinical or consumer studies, including protocol and data review.
• Answer technical nutrition questions from clients and internal teams.
• Keep up with changes in nutrition science and regulatory expectations.

Essential requirements

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in nutrition, dietetics or nutrition science.
• Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status preferred.

Other applicants need strong evidence-review experience.

• Working knowledge of supplement safety and evidence grading.
• Understanding of TGA rules on health claims and permitted indications for complementary medicines.
• Strong written communication.

Desirable

• Experience in dietary supplement or food product development.
• Experience with clinical or consumer studies.
• Experience with systematic literature reviews.
• Sports or clinical nutrition background.

The person we are looking for

• Evidence-led, and says plainly when the science does not support a claim.
• Works well with formulators and regulatory staff.
