Job summary

AXR Group’s Planet Herb division in Australia seeks a microbiology professional to run the laboratory routine, environmental monitoring and microbial investigations to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance.

You will perform microbial limit tests, identify organisms, manage culture collections, verify methods and maintain GMP-compliant records while training production staff on hygiene and aseptic practices.

Qualifications

• GMP-regulated microbiology laboratory experience.
• Experience with pharmacopoeial microbial test methods (USP, Ph. Eur. or equivalent).
• Experience with environmental monitoring and water system testing.
• Bachelor of Science in microbiology or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbial limit tests, organism identification and preservative efficacy testing on raw materials, in-process and finished products.

About PlanetHerb Planet Herb is one of the trading name under AXR Group Pty Ltd. Under our own brand we make export supplements, vitamins, skin care products for Australian and overseas clients. Our in-house laboratory tests with FTIR, UV/VIS, GC, HPLC and ICP.

Made in Australia for the world. About the role You will run the microbiology testing that shows our products are safe and meet TGA and export requirements.

You will own the microbiology laboratory routine, environmental monitoring and microbial investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microbial limit tests, organism identification and preservative efficacy testing on raw materials, in-process and finished products.

Essential requirements

• Bachelor of Science in microbiology or a related field.
• At least two years' experience in a GMP-regulated microbiology laboratory.
• Working knowledge of pharmacopoeial microbial test methods (USP, Ph. Eur. or equivalent).
• Experience with environmental monitoring and water system testing.
• Strong attention to detail in records and investigations.

Desirable

• Masters or PhD in microbiology.
• Experience with rapid microbiological methods.
• Probiotic, supplement or food manufacturing experience.
• Food safety or HACCP certification.
