Job summary

Springcare Care Homes Ltd is hiring a Nursing Assistant to support our residents with compassionate care. You will report to the Home Manager and help allocate duties, lead a team of health care assistants and provide personal care, nutrition, mobility and well-being to residents.

As you demonstrate competence, you may undertake clinical tasks such as PEG feeding, medication administration and basic observations. Day and night contracts are available across our Victoria locations.

Qualifications

• Experienced Nursing Assistant at Senior Care Assistant level 3.
• Reliable and trustworthy, able to work in a team and unsupervised.
• Self-motivated with the ability to lead a team of care assistants.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Allocate duties to Health Care Assistants and act as a role model for best practice.
• Provide personal care to residents and support nutrition, mobility and well-being.
• Undertake clinical tasks as competence allows (e.g., PEG feeding, medication administration, basic observations).

About you:

• You would be an experienced Nursing Assistant (Senior Care Assistant level 3)
• Whilst being reliable and trustworthy, you would be able to work as part of a team & unsupervised.
• As a forward thinker, you would be self-motivated and able to motivate and lead a team of care assistants.
• Showing leadership skills, you would be able to remain calm under pressure and adapt to ad hoc situations.
• Showing patience, empathy and care, you would be able to communicate with others using both oral and written skills.

Main Purpose of the Job

Nursing Assistants provide an essential role in contributing to the smooth running of our homes for older people. Our Nursing staff lead on the social care and support for our residents.

Reporting to the Home Manager, you would be responsible for allocating duties to a team of Health Care Assistants - acting as a role model in the delivery and promotion of best practice at all times. You would also help to provide personal care to our residents and support with their nutrition, mobility and well-being.

Once assessed as competent under the guidance of the Home Manager, a Nursing Assistant would also be required to undertake clinical tasks which may include:

• PEG feeding
• Medication administration
• Basic Observations

Typical Shift patterns for Day or Night Contracts

Days Shift Contracts

• 8am until 8pm
• 8am until 2pm
• 2pm until 8pm

Night Shift Contracts

• 8pm until 8am
