Job summary

Instant Green Nursery in Wamuran invites a hands-on Dispatch Supervisor to join our busy nursery operations. You will coordinate daily dispatch, manage a small driver team, and ensure accurate order processing and delivery execution.

Experience in nursery or agricultural logistics is valued; training on Evergreen Connect provided. A forklift licence is desirable for fleet tasks and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in nursery, horticulture or logistics is highly regarded, training on systems provided.
• Proven dispatch, logistics or warehouse coordination experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated people management experience and ability to brief and support a team.
• Highly organised with ability to prioritise multiple tasks and maintain accuracy.
• Strong attention to order accuracy, documentation and stock reconciliation.
• Proficient with order management/inventory software and clear communicator.

Responsibilities

• Manage the dispatch inbox, process orders, picking tickets and POs in Evergreen Connect.
• Plan and schedule daily dispatch based on delivery schedules and routes with sales.
• Supervise picking staff to ensure correct species and quantities are picked, labelled and packed.
• Liaise with sales on stock availability and alternatives when required.
• Oversee weeded, presentation and loading of plants onto trolleys and trucks.
• Prepare and distribute daily run sheets and delivery dockets; manage three drivers.
• Coordinate customer deliveries, brokered stock pick-ups and site communications.
• Manage truck servicing and fleet maintenance for safety and roadworthiness.
• Ensure shipping, delivery and PO documentation is accurate and forwarded to finance.
• Maintain accurate Fire Ant documentation and biosecurity records.

Job description

This is a full-time, hands-on position based at our Wamuran nursery. The role involves early starts and a fast-paced daily dispatch schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the dispatch inbox and processing orders, picking tickets and purchase orders in Evergreen Connect
• Planning and scheduling daily dispatch based on delivery schedules, routes and order priorities set with the sales team
• Coordinating, briefing and supervising picking staff to ensure correct species and quantities are picked, labelled and packed
• Liaising with the sales team on stock availability and identifying suitable alternatives when required
• Overseeing the weeding, presentation and loading of plants onto trolleys and trucks to prevent damage in transit
• Preparing and distributing daily run sheets and delivery dockets, and managing a team of three drivers
• Coordinating customer deliveries, brokered stock pick-ups and communication with site contacts
• Managing truck servicing and maintenance to keep the fleet safe and roadworthy
• Ensuring shipping, delivery and purchase order documentation is accurate and forwarded to finance on time
• Maintaining accurate Fire Ant documentation and biosecurity records

About you

• Experience in nursery, horticulture, produce or agricultural logistics is highly regarded, but not essential. Experience with Evergreen Connect is an advantage, and training on our systems will be provided.
• Proven experience in dispatch, logistics, warehouse coordination or a similar operational role
• Demonstrated people management experience, with the ability to brief, direct and support a team
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in order accuracy, documentation and stock reconciliation
• Confident using order management or inventory software, with sound administration skills
• Clear and proactive communicator with internal teams, drivers and customers
• Reliable and punctual, and takes ownership of problems through to resolution
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain) and an understanding of basic fleet maintenance are desirable
