Northern Beaches Hospital, part of NSW Health, seeks a highly motivated Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 (NUM2) – Staffing to lead the Nursing Staffing Office and casual nursing workforce. The role supports workforce utilisation, recruitment and liaison with nursing agencies.

You will provide leadership across Nursing & Midwifery Workforce, align staffing with patient care needs, and drive continuous improvement in workforce planning and governance at NBH.

Qualifikationen

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent management experience within an acute healthcare setting.
• Management qualifications, or substantial progress towards these.
• Demonstrated financial and human resource management skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated nursing leadership capability.
• A comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and contemporary nursing issues.
• Sound knowledge and experience in staff selection and recruitment.

Aufgaben

• Leading and overseeing the casual nursing pool, including recruitment, education, performance appraisal and performance management.
• Monitoring and evaluating casual nursing workforce supply and demand, ensuring resources are used effectively.
• Overseeing the daily allocation of casual and agency staff with Staffing Officers.
• Coordinating the recruitment and selection of casual nurses and developing strategies to attract and maintain the casual nursing workforce.
• Participating in strategic workforce planning, monitoring and reporting, including reviewing casual staff utilisation and relevant workforce indicators.
• Providing leadership and management to the Staffing Officer positions.
• Liaising with nursing agencies regarding performance development, contracts and invoices.
• Providing timely advice and communication regarding staffing challenges.
• Supporting staff education, professional development and quality improvement activities.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements, hospital policies and procedures.
