Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) invites an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead a diverse rural health service at Lithgow Hospital. The role oversees a 28‑bed unit with Medical, Surgical, Aged Care and Palliative Care services, ensuring safe, patient‑centred care and strong governance.

You will coordinate nursing and multi-disciplinary teams in a supportive, goal‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (AHPRA) with extensive post-registration experience.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver patient-centred care.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clinicians, managers and staff.
• Proven ability to manage unit resources (staff, budget and assets).
• Commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Demonstrates NBMLHD CORE values: Collaboration, Openness, Respect, Empowerment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership for a 28-bed unit including Medical, Surgical, Aged Care and Palliative Care.
• Oversee obstetric, ambulatory care and other services to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Lead workforce planning, governance, and financial stewardship within the service.
• Foster staff development and multidisciplinary teamwork to improve patient outcomes.
