Job summary

Healthscope, Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager for the Mental Health Unit (South West Clinic) on a full-time basis. You will lead the ward, manage budgets and resources, and support the Director of Nursing in delivering high-quality patient care.

You will oversee operational direction, promote evidence-based care, and guide a team of nurses while maintaining patient-centred services within a large hospital network.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with AHPRA.
• Working with Children Check (if relevant).
• Previous NUM level or equivalent.
• Experience in the Acute setting.
• Degree in relevant specialty area or working towards.
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A strong commitment to developing in a management role.
• A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care.
• High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various data bases.
• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
• Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
• Demonstrated HR management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the ward/unit to align with the hospital's strategy, processes and budget.
• Coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based and ensure efficient operations.
• Manage human, financial and material resources and uphold service standards.
• Undertake direct patient care as required and mentor less experienced staff.
