Job summary

Sydney Southwest Private Hospital is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to lead the ward/unit, drive efficient and evidence-based nursing care, and oversee financial, human, and material resources.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team. Compliance with national standards and a focus on staff development are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with AHPRA.
• Working with Children check (if relevant).
• HR management experience or demonstrated labour management knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong commitment to development in a management role.
• Commitment to high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational direction for the unit/ward to ensure efficient management and deliver evidence-based nursing care.
• Account for effective management of human, financial and material resources and maintain optimal customer service.
• Provide guidance and support to less experienced nursing staff.
