The Department of Health Tasmania is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Medical Ward at Mersey Community Hospital, guiding clinical care and operational performance. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care and efficient service delivery in a public health setting.

Permanent full-time position with day shifts, 76 hours per fortnight. Applicants must be Registered Nurses with the NMBA and will engage in quality improvement and workforce development

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire, develop and support nursing teams while promoting a positive and accountable workplace culture.
• Extensive clinical knowledge and experience relevant to acute medical, geriatric and/or palliative care services, together with an understanding of contemporary clinical governance and quality improvement principles.
• Strong decision-making, resource management and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder groups.

Responsabilités

• Provide clinical and operational leadership to the Medical Ward, overseeing services across general medicine, geriatric and palliative care.
• Lead a skilled workforce, ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Manage human, financial and physical resources, monitor ward performance and drive quality improvement initiatives.
