Job summary

Department of Health Tasmania invites applications for the Nurse Unit Manager role in the Medical Ward at Mersey Community Hospital. You will provide clinical and operational leadership across general medicine, geriatric and palliative care, ensuring safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within a multidisciplinary team.

The role oversees workforce, resources and performance, supporting service delivery and staff development under the Nursing Director - Medicine.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• Extensive clinical knowledge in acute medical, geriatric and/or palliative care with governance/quality improvement awareness.
• Strong decision-making, resource management and relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership to the Medical Ward at Mersey Community Hospital.
• Lead a skilled workforce to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary environment.
