Mott MacDonald Group is seeking experienced Nuclear Safety professionals willing to relocate to Adelaide, Australia, to help establish a sovereign naval nuclear capability under the AUKUS partnership.

Join a globally recognised consultancy with a strong safety culture, working with teams from Australia, the UK, and across our global network to shape safety approaches, assurance frameworks and regulatory engagement on defence nuclear programmes.

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or another STEM discipline, or a relevant industrial apprenticeship.
• Experience delivering nuclear safety case, safety assessment or safety assurance activities.
• Experience within defence nuclear, civil nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complex nuclear safety cases and safety assessments.
• Support safety substantiation, engineering justification and hazard management activities.
• Contribute to regulatory engagement and licensing programmes.
• Provide technical assurance across major defence and nuclear projects.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering, design and programme delivery teams.
• Support the development of Australia's sovereign nuclear capability and future nuclear workforce.

About You

We are interested in hearing from professionals at all levels who bring:

Experience within defence nuclear, civil nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
