Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) in NSW seeks a State Director to lead and coordinate executive-level operations, ensuring national intelligence objectives are achieved in collaboration with key stakeholders.

The role requires strategic oversight, policy input and strong leadership within a complex public sector framework, with focus on wellbeing, budget and cross-agency coordination.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated and well-developed senior leadership experience with public policy and privacy awareness in the national intelligence or law enforcement sector.
• Acute political awareness and strategic thinking in public administration.
• Outstanding communication skills for national cohesiveness and stakeholder engagement.
• Recognised relationship-building across public, private, law enforcement and National Intelligence Community.
• Ability to identify and drive adoption of innovative methods and practices.
• Experience in strategic planning related to people, technology, security and budget.

Responsabilités

• Jurisdictional oversight and delivery of the ACIC’s intelligence operations outcomes.
• Coordination of assigned national units and management of personnel.
• Oversight and responsibility for operational relationships with relevant state and territory agency personnel.
• Management of strategic agency relationships with senior state and territory stakeholders.
• As a member of ACIC national operational governance forums, deliver outputs with ACIC National Managers.
• Contribute to national operational policy formulation and coordinate response planning as appropriate.
• Strategic planning and implementation of agency initiatives related to wellbeing, culture, budget, workforce, learning and infrastructure.
