Job summary

Abergeldie is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead the NSW safety function across major infrastructure projects. You will report to the Head of Safety and guide a team of Senior Advisors and Advisors, driving safety performance and cultural alignment on-site and across portfolios.

Regular travel within Sydney and regional NSW is required to support projects, enforce critical controls, and embed learnings from incidents into operations.

Qualifications

• Senior safety leadership role with accountability for strategy and performance across projects.
• Qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or a related discipline.
• Experience developing and leading high-performing safety teams.
• Ability to influence operational leaders and drive safety outcomes.
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, ISO 45001 and OFSC requirements.
• Experience leading complex incident investigations (ICAM).
• Track record of strengthening safety culture across large workforces.
• Experience in civil construction, infrastructure or utilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the NSW safety strategy to align with business objectives and regulatory obligations.
• Provide leadership, coaching and development to the NSW safety team.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and culture across the NSW portfolio.
• Maintain a visible on-site leadership presence across projects to reinforce critical controls.
• Lead significant incident investigations and embed learnings into operations.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, ISO 45001, OFSC requirements and client frameworks.
• Build strong relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with safety leaders to maintain nationally aligned standards and practices.
