Job summary

Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support the West Region Delivery Team across multiple construction sites in Western Sydney. This hands-on role emphasizes practical safety leadership, WHS compliance and a proactive safety culture with project teams and subcontractors.

You will travel between sites, conduct inspections, lead incident investigations (ICAM/5 Whys), review SWMS, and mentor supervisors to ensure safe work practices and timely action closure.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or Senior Safety Coordinator role on civil construction and/or water projects.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and practical application on site.
• Ability to manage multiple fronts across active sites and balance priorities.
• Proven incident investigation skills (ICAM and/or 5 Whys).
• Willingness to travel regularly between project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical health and safety support to project teams across multiple construction sites.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace observations to identify hazards and verify controls.
• Support risk assessments, SWMS reviews and project planning activities.
• Coach and mentor supervisors, engineers and frontline crews on safe work practices.
• Lead and support incident investigations and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and procedures.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and pre-starts to promote safety culture.
• Track safety performance, identify trends and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with operational teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Assist project teams in achieving safety objectives while supporting delivery of works.
