Job summary

Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Pitt Town Bypass Project in Sydney's north west. You will drive a positive safety culture across site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely and in line with project and legislative requirements.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum requirement).
• White Card is required.
• Experience in health and safety roles within civil construction, infrastructure or major projects (TfNSW experience highly regarded).
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of project health and safety systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace observations.
• Facilitate incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Assist with risk assessments, SWMS reviews and safety planning activities.
• Provide advice and coaching to project teams, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, project procedures and client requirements.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives.
• Contribute to reporting, safety metrics and project performance reviews.

About Us

Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team on the Pitt Town Bypass Project in Sydney's north west.

Delivered for Transport for NSW, the Pitt Town Bypass will improve traffic flow, reduce heavy vehicle movements through the township and enhance road safety for local residents and road users. The project includes new road construction, roundabouts, bridge structures and associated civil infrastructure works.

As part of the project team, you will play a key role in driving a positive safety culture across site operations and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project and legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of project health and safety systems

• Conducting site inspections, audits and workplace observations

• Facilitating incident investigations and corrective actions

• Assisting with risk assessments, SWMS reviews and safety planning activities

• Providing advice and coaching to project teams, supervisors and subcontractors

• Monitoring compliance with WHS legislation, project procedures and client requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within civil construction, infrastructure or major projects (TfNSW experience highly regarded)

• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and industry best practice

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Experience conducting safety inspections, audits and incident investigations

• Ability to build strong relationships and positively influence teams at all levels

• A proactive and practical approach to safety management

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum requirement) and White Card

• Current driver's licence
