Job summary

Myriota Adelaide is hiring an NPI Engineer to move satellite‑connected hardware from R&D to mass production. You will lead end‑to‑end handovers to contract manufacturers, embedding design for manufacture and test early in development.

You’ll work with electronics engineers to optimize schematics and layouts, select components, and design automated test fixtures and software to assure full functional coverage before deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of commercial hardware experience transitioning complex electronic products into scaled mass production.
• Hands-on experience with local and offshore contract manufacturers across trial builds and volume ramps.
• Experience specifying and implementing automated manufacturing test fixtures and test regimes.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, 8D problem solving, yield analysis, and V&V traceability.
• Strong documentation skills translating constraints into clear assembly and test instructions.
• Familiarity with reviewing schematics/PCBs in CAD tools (Altium Designer) and scripting (Python, Bash) for test automation.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, and roll out automated factory test fixtures and test software with full functional coverage.
• Direct daily engagement with local and remote CMs, defining SOPs and standard process flows.
• Drive root‑cause investigations using PFMEA, 8D, and Pareto analyses to reduce scrap and line failures.
• Maintain ECOs, verify design integrity, and ensure V&V traceability.
• Support ad‑hoc engineering challenges and cross‑functional hardware priorities as we scale.

The incredible opportunity:

As an NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer within our Edge team, you will act as the primary technical anchor taking complex, satellite-connected electronic hardware from R&D prototype into scaled, commercial contract manufacturing.

Reporting directly to the Electronics Lead, you will bridge the gap between engineering design and high-volume mass production. You’ll embed Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) early in the design cycle, architect automated production test fixtures, drive factory quality frameworks, and collaborate with both local and offshore Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to ensure our direct-to-orbit edge hardware is delivered reliably, cost-effectively, and at scale.

What we’ll trust you with:

Leading the end-to-end technical handover of edge hardware from internal R&D to contract manufacturing partners, orchestrating prototype, pilot, and full production build gates.

Partnering with electronics engineers early in development to evaluate schematics, PCB layouts, assembly tolerances, and component selection to maximize first-pass yield (FPY).

Specifying, designing, and rolling out automated factory test fixtures, test software, and assembly processes that ensure 100% functional test coverage prior to deployment.

Directing day-to-day technical engagement with local and remote CMs, defining SOPs, standard process flows, and rapidly resolving production‑floor technical inquiries.

Driving root‑cause investigations on manufacturing defects using structured quality methodologies, including PFMEA, 8D analysis, and Pareto tracking to systematically eliminate scrap and line failures.

Maintaining engineering change orders (ECOs), ensuring design integrity, and verifying requirements against strict Verification & Validation (V&V) traceability matrices.

Leaning in with an \"all hands on deck\" mindset to support ad‑hoc engineering challenges, alternative component sourcing, and cross‑functional hardware priorities as we grow.

What we'd love to see in you:

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

3+ years of commercial hardware experience transitioning complex electronic products into scaled mass production.

Hands-on experience working with both local and offshore/remote Contract Manufacturers (CMs) across trial builds and volume ramps.

Demonstrated ability to specify, build, or implement automated manufacturing test fixtures and test regimes for electronic assemblies.

Practical experience applying PFMEA, 8D problem solving, yield analysis, and V&V requirements traceability.

Strong technical documentation skills with the ability to translate complex engineering constraints into clear assembly and test instructions.

Familiarity with reviewing schematics/PCBs in CAD tools (such as Altium Designer), or exposure to embedded software (C/C++) and scripting (Python, Bash) for test automation and telemetry analysis.
