Gallagher is seeking a field-based sales professional to partner with livestock producers in Bendigo and surrounding areas, understanding yard operations and proposing practical improvements. You’ll carry opportunities from first visit through to close, coordinating with CAD and engineering teams to deliver turn-key yard solutions.

You’ll build lasting relationships with farmers and rural dealers, convert opportunities, forecast pipelines, and travel 2–3 days per fortnight to service the region.

Qualifications

• Understanding agriculture and selling into it.
• Experience selling to farmers or working in the agricultural sector.
• Strong commercial instincts and ability to convert opportunities.

The Opportunity

This is a field-based sales role with a difference.

You’ll work directly with livestock producers to understand how their yards operate, what they’re trying to achieve and where things could work better. You’ll assess sites, understand livestock flow, develop initial yard concepts and build proposals that our CAD team turns into detailed designs.

You’ll own the customer relationship and the sales opportunity – from the first farm visit through to closing the deal and delivering a solution the customer is genuinely happy with.

There’s plenty of variety: on-farm visits, customer conversations, yard design, quoting, dealer relationships and commercial sales.

The Fit

We’re looking for someone who understands agriculture and knows how to sell into it.

You might come from livestock or rural sales, farm infrastructure, animal handling equipment, rural consultancy, yard design – or have strong practical farming experience combined with commercial sales ability.

You’ll Bring

• A genuine understanding of livestock, cattle flow and on-farm operations
• Experience selling to farmers or working in the agricultural sector
• Strong commercial instincts and a proven ability to convert opportunities
• Confidence building relationships and having practical conversations with customers
• The ability to understand a customer’s operation and recommend the right solution
• Self-motivation, organisation and the independence to manage a regional territory
• A practical, down-to-earth approach and a genuine connection with the agricultural industry

You’ll also be comfortable with travel of 2 – 3 days per fortnight depending on your location.
