Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria is seeking Youth Justice Workers to join night shifts at Malmsbury. You’ll supervise and support young people on remand or in custody, with a focus on safety, wellbeing and firm boundaries.

The role offers full training including a funded Certificate IV in Youth Justice, opportunities for career progression, generous penalties, and relocation support within the region.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviours.
• Willingness to participate in training and certification programs.
• Eligibility to work in Australia and pass health and fitness assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular wellbeing checks of young people.
• Redirect anti-social and challenging behaviour.
• Monitor CCTV, complete compliance reporting and respond to alarms.
• Respond to incidents as they occur and coordinate with other services.
