Job summary

Strait Link is seeking an experienced Night Shift Operations Manager to lead our night shift at Webb Dock. You will be responsible for ensuring freight is safely processed, loaded and dispatched while driving operational performance, safety and customer service across the night shift.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee all night shift operations, coordinate labour and equipment, and maintain a seamless transition between day and night operations to achieve targets and uphold

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience within transport, logistics, shipping or warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all night shift operational activities to ensure safe and efficient freight movements.
• Reviewing pays and using Kronos on a daily basis.
• Manage supervisors and operational employees, providing coaching, support and performance leadership.
• Ensure freight is processed, loaded and dispatched accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor operational performance and respond proactively to service disruptions and changing priorities.
• Coordinate labour, fleet and equipment resources to meet operational requirements.
• Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), company policies and legislative requirements.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues while implementing corrective actions where required.
• Ensure accurate operational reporting, documentation and effective shift handovers.
• Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders to support seamless 24-hour operations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity and customer service.
