Job summary

Strait Link is seeking an experienced Night Shift Operations Manager to lead the Webb Dock night shift, ensuring freight is safely processed, loaded and dispatched while maintaining high safety and service standards.

You will report to the Operations Manager and coordinate labour, fleet and equipment resources, driving continuous improvement and strong safety culture across the 24-hour network.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in transport, logistics, shipping or warehouse operations.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing operational teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of transport operations, safety and CoR requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead night shift operational activities to ensure safe and efficient freight movements.
• Review pays and using Kronos on a daily basis.
• Manage supervisors and operational employees, providing coaching, support and performance leadership.
• Ensure freight is processed, loaded and dispatched accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor operational performance and respond proactively to service disruptions and changing priorities.
• Coordinate labour, fleet and equipment resources to meet operational requirements.
• Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with CoR, company policies and legislative requirements.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues while implementing corrective actions where required.
• Ensure accurate operational reporting, documentation and effective shift handovers.
• Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders to support seamless 24-hour operations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity and customer service.
