Job summary

Obadare Group in Toowoomba region is seeking a skilled fitter and turner or machinist to manufacture high-quality threaded products, BOP adapters, and drilling tools. You will machine and mill rig components and assist with assembly and testing, potentially joining night shifts or onsite engagements as needed.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, a valid Queensland drivers licence and an LF high-risk licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience as a machinist/fitter.
• Valid QLD Drivers Licence.
• High Risk Work Licence – LF.

Responsibilities

• Carry out machining and milling on products.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and isometrics.
• Program lathe and milling machines to suit products and efficiencies.
• May be required to work night shift or onsite.
• Plan work within production plan set by supervisor.
• Keep work area clean and equipment maintained.

Industry leading rates of pay - $38 to $48 per hour permanent full-time+ Night Shift Allowance

You get to machine some cool stuff… Threaded products, BOP and Adaptors, Downhole Tooling, Custom Machined Tools, etc.

Weekly pay cycle

Sign on bonus $500.00 upon commencing and $1,000.00 upon successfully completing the 6 month probation period

Relocation assistance - if you are interstate or over 500kms from Toowoomba, relocation allowance of $2,000 plus support/assistance with your rental or purchase applications

Overtime - although we can never guarantee overtime the business has seen an average of 45-50 hours per week of workload throughout the last 12 months

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a skilled fitter and turner or machinist to manufacture products to the highest quality level. The successful candidate will be involved in machining and milling rig products and accessories, threaded pipework and fittings and a variety of other drilling and/or coal seam gas related products. We are also looking for this person to help with our fit out or assembly work and learn the inspection and testing side of the business.

Key Tasks:

• To carry out machining and milling activities on products


• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and isometrics


• Programming of lathe and milling machine to suit products and efficiencies


• May be required to carry out night shift and/or work onsite from time to time


• Ability to plan their own time and workflow within the production plan set down by the machining supervisor


• Ensure that the work area is kept clean, tidy and equipment is maintained to company requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Valid QLD Drivers Licence


• Minimum 3 years experience required
