Job summary

You Matter in Liverpool, NSW is seeking a Night Link Worker to provide empathetic and caring support to residents experiencing homelessness, including those with complex needs. The role focuses on creating a safe environment that enables residents to make positive changes and access timely assistance.

Night duties include meeting basic needs, safeguarding adults at risk, coordinating rent and housing payments, and working with day teams to address health and financial support needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure basic needs of residents are met and provide guidance.
• Promote welfare and safeguarding of adults at risk.
• Coordinate housing-related tasks and rent payments in the service system.
• Support residents with health and financial access, including crisis intervention.
• Maintain resident records and handle incidents, complaints and disclosures promptly.
• Participate in night team meetings and reflect on practice for continuous improvement.
• Communicate information clearly during handovers and with the support team.
• Promote inclusive culture and values within the service.

Job description

As a Night Link Worker at You Matter you will naturally be an empathetic and caring person wanting to provide unconditional support for those experiencing homelessness and may have additional complex needs. Your role as a Night Link Worker will be to create a safe environment that empowers residents to make positive changes in their lives and to offer support when needed.

What your week may look like

Ensuring the basic needs of residents are met including good quality accommodation and facilities, advice and guidance

Responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults and people who are at risk

Advocate for social inclusion of the people you support ensuring they are able to access health and financial support

Ensuring Housing Benefit and Services Charges are collected and managed effectively

Work alongside the people in our services to address their physical and mental health issues, including liaison with, and handover of information to the day teams

Carrying out the immediate support needs of residents as appropriate, providing crisis intervention where necessary and working with services

Ensuring all health and safety and maintenance issues are raised in a timely manner

Participating in night team meetings, supervisions and reflective practice encouraging open, honest and transparent feedback where continuous improvement is encouraged.

Being flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the service, ensuring our SHREK values runs through all of the work that you do

Promoting a supportive and inclusive culture within the service, valuing people and their diversity.

Provide clear and accurate information in respect of all residents in line with agreed procedures such as daily handovers ensuring that appropriate information is communicated with the support team

Coordinate the additional Sit Up beds as and when required.

To maintain and update residents’ electronic records and rent payments on You Matter internal Housing Management System (DAVE)

To deal promptly with all serious incidents, complaints and safeguarding/abuse disclosures
