Job summary

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Port Douglas, Queensland, is seeking a Night Auditor / GSE to manage Front Office operations during shifts and ensure guest satisfaction in line with Marriott standards.

The role requires attention to safety, collaboration with Housekeeping and Engineering, and promoting hotel outlets. Experience with OPERA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Front Office operations during shift and ensure adherence to standards.
• Handle problems and guest complaints and restore satisfaction per Marriott standards.
• Notify and assist investigations on safety and security matters.
• Disseminate information across the Front Office and related operations.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping & Engineering to ensure rooms are ready.
• Enforce hotel credit policy compliance.
• Promote hotel's outlets and facilities to guests.
• Proactively address hotel-wide operational needs and coordinate staff as needed.
• Foster repeat business through guest satisfaction.
• Keep work area clean at all times.
• Take care of equipment and report maintenance issues.
• Report any equipment breakdowns or safety issues.
• Attend on time and be at your workstation as rostered.
• Follow managerial direction and duties as assigned.

Primary Duties:

• Coordinate Front Office operations during shift and ensure adherence to all Standards and Procedures.
• Deal with problems and complaints received with the support of Duty Managers. Immediately act to restore guest satisfaction, demonstrating Marriott Standards at all times. Ensure all incidents are communicated to the Manager on Duty.
• To notify and assist in investigations in all matters pertaining to safety and security
• Timely dissemination of information throughout the entire Front Office Department. In addition to this, any information relevant to the operations of the resort in general is to be communicated to the Resort Operations Manager or General Manager.
• Show due care of all equipment, report any maintenance issues and log accordingly.
• Liaise with Housekeeping & Engineering Departments to ensure adequate rooms are available for arrivals.
• Ensure Hotel credit policies are complied with.
• Encourage selling of Hotel’s outlets and facilities.
• Be proactive in observing operational needs across the Hotel, enlisting staff from other departments to assist in areas where business demands are higher.

Experience With OPERA Preferred.

• Facilitate repeat business through guest satisfaction.
• Ensure that your work area is kept clean at all times.
• Show due care of all equipment, report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Report and/or take action on any equipment breakdown or safety issue relevant to your work area.
• To attend work on time, ensuring that you are at your workstation in line with your rostered shift requirement.
• Follow the direction of your Manager and undertake duties as requested.
