Job summary

Nova Entertainment, Melbourne-based, is seeking an experienced radio newsreader for a casual newsroom role. You will develop, write and edit on-air news bulletins and podcasts, delivering accurate, brand-consistent content across the Nova network.

You will work with on-air teams and the National Newsroom Operations Manager to ensure timely coverage, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, tone, and compliance with broadcast codes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regional or metro radio newsroom is essential.
• Passion for news and current affairs with a presenting voice to suit the Nova brand.
• Strong understanding of local, national and international news affecting the community.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and edit on-air news bulletins and Bulletins for The Update podcast.
• Ensure news content is current, accurate and consistent with brand style.
• Cover leave and be available during public holidays and weekends.
• Collaborate with on-air teams, National Newsroom, Producers and Announcers to maintain quality broadcasts.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate radio newsreader to join our Nova Entertainment/Smooth FM newsroom in a casual capacity, with opportunities to work across both brands and support network-wide coverage.

You will work independently but be fully supported by a team of experienced newsreaders and journalists across the national network to ensure news content is current, accurate and consistent.

WorkingArrangements:

Asacasualyouwillstillhavetheresponsibilityfordeveloping,writingandeditingonairnewsbulletinsaswellasbulletinsforournewspodcastoffering"TheUpdate".You’llhavetomaintainthesmoothrunningofnewsbroadcastsbyensuringcontentiscompliantwithallbroadcastcodesofconduct.
