Job summary

Nova Entertainment is looking for an experienced and passionate radio journalist to join our Nova Entertainment Network newsroom in a casual capacity, with opportunities to cover all networks. A local hire with strong knowledge of Gosford and the Central Coast is preferred, able to identify stories that resonate with local audiences.

You will work independently but be supported by other newsreaders across the national team to ensure news content is current, accurate and consistent.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regional or metro radio newsroom (essential).
• Passion for news with a presenting voice suitable for the Nova brand.
• Strong understanding of local, national and international news affecting the community.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time and deadline management under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• NewsBoss and Zetta experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and edit on-air news bulletins and for the news podcast "The Update."
• Cover leave and public holidays/weekends as required, in coordination with on-air teams.
• Ensure broadcasts comply with all broadcast codes of conduct and brand style.

Working Arrangements:

Asacasualyouwillstillhavetheresponsibilityfordeveloping,writingandeditingonairnewsbulletinsaswellasbulletinsforournewspodcastoffering"TheUpdate".You'llhavetomaintainthesmoothrunningofnewsbroadcastsbyensuringcontentiscompliantwithallbroadcastcodesofconduct.
