Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology is required.
  • Current Speech Pathology Australia membership required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a car.
  • Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions for young people and families.
  • Demonstrate strong communication with individuals of all ages, families, and stakeholders.
  • Attend stakeholder and management meetings representing Speech Pathology perspective.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with disabilities, including autism and other needs.
  • Participate in assessment and evaluation of clients.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development for the service.
  • Promote and maintain a child-safe environment.
  • Report concerns under the Child Protection Act 1999.
  • Demonstrate respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children’s culture.
  • Complete regular child safety and anti-discrimination training.

Job Summary

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions that support young people and their families.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in your interactions with individuals of all ages, families, stakeholders, and fellow team members.
  • Attend stakeholder and management meetings to represent the Speech Pathology perspective.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with disabilities, including those with autism, behavioural challenges, physical impairments, and more.
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of clients.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for professional development that would benefit the service.
  • Actively promote and maintain a child-safe environment.
  • Report any concerns regarding child abuse or neglect in accordance with the Child Protection Act 1999.
  • Demonstrate respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children’s cultural identity.
  • Complete regular child safety and anti-discrimination training.

Requirements

Bachelor of Speech Pathology.

Current Speech Pathology Australia membership.
