Job summary

Collective Growth in Gladstone seeks a Senior Speech and Language Pathologist to lead and grow our allied health team. You will develop discipline-specific templates and resources and help plan future services for our clients.

You will supervise graduates, manage complex caseloads, engage with stakeholders, and drive high-quality documentation while promoting child-safe practices and cultural respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Speech Pathology required.
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a car.
  • Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain one).
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Speech Pathologist minimum.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to support clients and families.
  • Demonstrate strong communication with individuals of all ages and families.
  • Attend stakeholder and management meetings to represent Speech Pathology views.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with disabilities, including autism and behavioral challenges.
  • Participate in assessment and evaluation of clients.

Job Summary

At Collective Growth, we are passionate about fostering collaboration among allied health professionals and building a dynamic team dedicated to client care. We are excited to invite applications for a Senior Speech and Language Pathologist to join our growing team of professionals. In this role, we will seek your support regarding developing discipline specific templates, resources, and planning future services from Collective Growth.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions that support clients and their families.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in your interactions with individuals of all ages, families, stakeholders, and fellow team members.
  • Attend stakeholder and management meetings to represent the Speech Pathology perspective.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with disabilities, including those with autism, behavioural challenges, physical impairments, and more.
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of clients.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for professional development that would benefit the service.
  • Actively promote and maintain a child-safe environment.
  • Report any concerns regarding child abuse or neglect in accordance with the Child Protection Act 1999.
  • Demonstrate respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children’s cultural identity.
  • Complete regular child safety and anti-discrimination training.
  • Clinical leadership skills to support the service.
  • Support for supervising developing clinicians.
  • Creating and supporting new innovative ideas to support the growth of the organisation.
  • Supervise and mentor new graduate Speech Pathologists and allied health assistants.
  • Offer the supervision of at least one student placement for a Speech Pathologist per year.
  • Provide feedback to the team on policies and procedures such as documentation practices.
Requirements

Bachelor of Speech Pathology.

Current Speech Pathology Australia membership.

Valid driver’s license and access to a car.

A current Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain this).

3-5 years working as a Speech Pathologist minimum
