Job summary

Paxus is assisting a government agency in Sydney, Australia, to recruit a Network Security Architect to design, implement and operate resilient network architectures across IT and OT environments. This role focuses on identifying gaps, assessing risks, and delivering secure, standards-based network designs to protect assets from cyber threats.

The successful candidate will manage complex EVPN-VXLAN deployments, collaborate with vendors and stakeholders, and contribute to cyber security roadmaps

Qualifications

• Design secure, resilient, and scalable networks to support critical government infrastructure.
• Experience with Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric, routing, switching, NAC, and NGFW.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete the design & implementation of a Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric between 2 DCs.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and NSW Telco stakeholders to deliver on standards.
• Migrate critical applications from legacy network to Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric.
• Provide operational escalation to the Network operations centre and the Security operations team.
• Provide support during and post cutover.
• Ensure projects comply with cyber security best practices and meet regulatory requirements.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and communications to keep deliverables on track.
