Job summary

AAR Consulting Group is seeking a Principal Network Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of a Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric across NSW data centres for a major public safety network project.

You will collaborate with vendors, guide project teams, and ensure cyber security best practices and regulatory compliance throughout the migration and operational phases.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing secure, resilient networks for critical infrastructure.
  • Ability to design, implement and document large EVPN-VXLAN fabrics.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and manage vendor relationships.
  • Hold/obtain relevant industry certifications in cyber security.

Responsibilities

  • Migrate critical applications from legacy network to EVPN-VXLAN fabric.

Job description

Our client is a large NSW government statutory department. They are undertaking a $1.4 billion public safety radio network build and providing guidance across a range of other networks.

The Principal Network Security Architect will play a key role within the within the highly technical and collaborative Cyber Security Networks team.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete the detailed design & implementation of a Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric between 2 data centres
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver on agreed commitments and standards
  • Migration of critical applications from the legacy network to Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric
  • Provide an operational escalation to the NOC and the Security operations team
  • Provide support during and post cutover.
  • Ensure all projects comply with cyber security best practices and meet relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships
  • Ensure solutions cater for the business requirements.
  • Act as the Network Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) within project teams - providing guidance and expertise
  • Develop and implement network security policies and controls to safeguard availability, integrity and confidentiality.
Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in the design and implementation of secure, resilient, and scalable networks to support critical infrastructure and applications
  • Key technology exposure includes routing, switching, Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric, Next Generation firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), Public Cloud and Application Delivery Controllers (ADC).
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills,
  • Experience providing design and as-built documentation along with up-to-date network diagrams
  • Outstanding ability to troubleshoot and manage incidents relating to the migration.
  • Experience in developing technology roadmaps that align with organisational goals
  • An ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge on ICT, cyber security and cyber risk trends and hold relevant industry certifications.
  • Must have, or be able to attain a baseline security clearance (Australian citizenship essential)
