Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team. You will build software services to deploy and scale AWS networks across global datacenters, collaborating across software, hardware, and network engineers.

You will design with reliability and scalability in mind, mentor junior engineers, and drive performance optimizations while adapting to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.

Responsibilities

• Build software services to deploy and scale the Amazon networks that support AWS and other business units.
• Deliver high quality, extensible design and code for distributed systems.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and manage competing priorities.
• Troubleshoot network issues and optimize performance across datacenters.
