Job summary

XPT Software Australia seeks an experienced Network Engineer - Exchange Site Transformation to support enterprise messaging modernization. The role covers planning, designing, implementing, and supporting Exchange infrastructure transformation projects, including data center migrations, site consolidations, upgrades, hybrid deployments, and cloud migration programs.

The engineer will work closely with infrastructure, security, cloud, and business teams to ensure seamless messaging migrations

Qualifications

• Must have deep expertise in Microsoft Exchange Server administration and Exchange Site Transformation.
• Experience with mailbox migrations, site consolidations, and tenant-to-tenant migrations.
• Strong knowledge of mail flow, SMTP, DNS, and AD integration; DAG and high-availability setups.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mail delivery, performance, and connectivity issues.
• PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and administration.
• Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and project execution skills.

Must Have Skills

• Strong experience in Microsoft Exchange Server administration, Exchange Site Transformation, and messaging infrastructure migration projects.
• Hands-on expertise with Exchange Server 2016/2019, Exchange Online, Office 365, and hybrid environments. Proven experience in mailbox migrations, site consolidations, tenant-to-tenant migrations, coexistence management, and Exchange infrastructure modernization.
• Deep understanding of mail flow, SMTP, DNS, Active Directory integration, DAG (Database Availability Group), load balancing, and high-availability configurations.
• Experience in troubleshooting complex mail delivery, performance, and connectivity issues.
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting for Exchange administration, automation, and reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and project execution skills.

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure services, and hybrid identity solutions.
• Knowledge of Exchange security technologies including Microsoft Defender for Office 365, email security gateways, anti-spam, anti-malware, and compliance solutions.
• Experience with migration tools such as Quest, Binary Tree, or Microsoft migration tools. Exposure to Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and broader Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, automation tools, and cloud transformation initiatives. Experience working in large-scale global enterprise environments is preferred.
