Job summary

Boltin seeks a seasoned network engineer in Sydney to manage security-focused network infrastructure across enterprise environments. You will implement firewall, routing, and wireless controls, drive vulnerability remediation, and document changes and plans for operations teams.

Strong Cisco, F5, Palo Alto experience and incident response skills are essential, with travel to client sites and on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Cisco ICND 2 or equivalent certification required.
• Experience managing Cisco routing, switching, and network management platforms.
• Experience with Cisco Firewall (ASA and FTD) and Palo Alto.
• Experience with F5 load balancing (LTM/GTM/BIG-IQ).
• Experience with Wireless/WLC technologies and security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritise, and remediate network vulnerabilities with Infrastructure and Cyber Security.
• Implement and maintain network security hardening activities.
• Produce network implementation plans, technical docs, and Change Records.
• Provide recommendations for network optimisation and risk reduction.
• Draft and validate changes, test network infrastructure updates, and support incident response.

Job description

Location: Sydney CBD, some travel to Bella Vista required

Skills Required

• Cisco certifications (Cisco ICND 2 or equivalent)
• F5 Certifications (F5-CA or equivalent)
• Experience managing Cisco routing, switching, and network management platforms.
• Experience with Cisco Firewall (ASA and FTD)
• Experience managing Wireless and WLC technologies
• Experience managing F5 load balancing technologies (LTM, GTM and BIG-IQ).
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall technology.
• Experience with network security technologies, including vulnerability remediation, firewalls, and security hardening.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills in complex enterprise environments.
• Ability to produce technical implementation plans and operational documentation.

Anticipated Deliverables:

• Assess, prioritise, and remediate network infrastructure vulnerabilities in collaboration with Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams
• Implement and Maintain network infrastructure security hardening activities.
• Produce and modify high-quality network implementation plans, technical documentation, and Change Records.
• Adhere to operational procedures, standards, and support documentation.
• Provide recommendations for network optimisation and risk reduction.
• Commission, test, and validate physical and virtual network infrastructure changes and enhancements.
• Support incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis activities for network services.
• Scheduled work at, and travel to and from the Banks offices at Martin Place and Bella Vista will be required.
• Scheduled Out of Hours and Weekend work will be required with compensation via TOIL.
• Other reasonable Network related activity as directed by the RBA, including mandatory training / e-learning.
