Job summary

DWS Group is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer to support and enhance enterprise network environments across office, data center, and cloud platforms in Sydney. You’ll work in a high-performing team, driving stability, security and ongoing improvements in a complex environment.

Candidates must have Cisco ICND2 and F5-CA or equivalent, with hands-on experience in routing, switching, firewalls and wireless/WLC technologies.

Qualifications

• Cisco ICND2 or equivalent required.
• F5-CA or equivalent required.
• Experience with Cisco routing, switching and network management.
• Experience with ASA/FTD firewall platforms.
• WLC/Wireless management experience.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and security hardening.
• Strong incident management and RCA skills.
• Ability to produce implementation plans and change records.

Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritise, and remediate vulnerabilities with Infra and Cyber Security teams.
• Implement and maintain network security hardening activities.
• Produce and modify network implementation plans, technical documentation, and Change Records.
• Adhere to operational procedures, standards, and support documentation.
• Provide recommendations for network optimisation and risk reduction.
• Commission, test, and validate network changes and enhancements.
• Support incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis activities for network services.
• Travel between Sydney offices at Martin Place and Bella Vista.
• Scheduled Out of Hours and Weekend work with compensation via TOIL.
• Other network related activity including mandatory training and e-learning.

Network Engineer to work across Cisco routing, switching, and network management platforms

• Work across Cisco, firewalls, security hardening

DWS is seeking a skilled Cisco Network Engineer to join us on client site, support and enhance enterprise network environments across office, data center, and cloud platform environments. This role will see you working within a high-performing team, contributing to operational stability, security, and ongoing network improvements in a complex enterprise scale environment.

Salary : $150,000 inclusive of Superannuation

Essential skills:

• Cisco certifications (Cisco ICND 2 or equivalent)
• F5 Certifications (F5-CA or equivalent)
• Experience managing Cisco routing, switching, and network management platforms.
• Experience with Cisco Firewall (ASA and FTD)
• Experience managing Wireless and WLC technologies
• Experience managing F5 load balancing technologies (LTM, GTM and BIG-IQ)
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall technology
• Experience with network security technologies, including vulnerability remediation, firewalls, and security hardening
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills in complex enterprise environments
• Ability to produce technical implementation plans and operational documentation

Anticipated Deliverables:

• Assess, prioritise, and remediate network infrastructure vulnerabilities in collaboration with Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams
• Implement and Maintain network infrastructure security hardening activities
• Produce and modify high-quality network implementation plans, technical documentation, and Change Records
• Adhere to operational procedures, standards, and support documentation
• Provide recommendations for network optimisation and risk reductio.
• Commission, test, and validate physical and virtual network infrastructure changes and enhancements
• Support incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis activities for network services
• Scheduled work at, and travel to and from offices at Martin Place and Bella Vista will be required
• Scheduled Out of Hours and Weekend work will be required with compensation via TOIL
• Other reasonable Network related activity as directed, including mandatory training / e-learning.
