Job summary

DWS Group in Sydney is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer to join client-site engagements across office, data center, and cloud environments. You will support enterprise networks, focusing on security hardening, reliability, and ongoing improvements within a large-scale environment. The role requires Cisco ICND 2, F5/ Palo Alto expertise, and hands-on experience with routing, switching, and firewalls.

Immediate start, 12+ month max term, based in Sydney CBD & Bella Vista. Salary: $150,000 incl.

Qualifications

• Cisco ICND 2 or equivalent certification.
• F5-CA or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Cisco routing, switching, and network management.
• Experience with Cisco ASA/FTD firewalls.
• Experience with Wireless and WLC technologies.
• Experience with F5 load balancers (LTM/GTM/BIG-IQ).
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Experience with security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management in complex environments.
• Ability to produce network implementation plans and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and remediate network vulnerabilities with Infra and Cyber Security teams.
• Implement and maintain security hardening of network infrastructure.
• Produce and update high-quality implementation plans and Change Records.
• Follow operational procedures and support documentation.
• Recommend network optimization and risk reduction.
• Coordinate and validate physical and virtual network changes.
• Support incident response and root cause analysis.
• Travel to Martin Place and Bella Vista offices as required.
• OOH and weekend work with compensation via TOIL.
• Complete mandatory training / e-learning.

DWS is seeking a skilled Cisco Network Engineer to join us on client site, support and enhance enterprise network environments across office, data center, and cloud platform environments. This role will see you working within a high-performing team, contributing to operational stability, security, and ongoing network improvements in a complex enterprise scale environment.

Essential skills:

• Cisco certifications (Cisco ICND 2 or equivalent)
• F5 Certifications (F5-CA or equivalent)
• Experience managing Cisco routing, switching, and network management platforms.
• Experience with Cisco Firewall (ASA and FTD)
• Experience managing Wireless and WLC technologies
• Experience managing F5 load balancing technologies (LTM, GTM and BIG-IQ)
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall technology
• Experience with network security technologies, including vulnerability remediation, firewalls, and security hardening
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills in complex enterprise environments
• Ability to produce technical implementation plans and operational documentation

Anticipated Deliverables:

• Assess, prioritise, and remediate network infrastructure vulnerabilities in collaboration with Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams
• Implement and Maintain network infrastructure security hardening activities
• Produce and modify high-quality network implementation plans, technical documentation, and Change Records
• Adhere to operational procedures, standards, and support documentation
• Provide recommendations for network optimisation and risk reduction.
• Commission, test, and validate physical and virtual network infrastructure changes and enhancements
• Support incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis activities for network services
• Scheduled work at, and travel to and from offices at Martin Place and Bella Vista will be required
• Scheduled Out of Hours and Weekend work will be required with compensation via TOIL
• Other reasonable Network related activity as directed, including mandatory training / e-learning.
