Job summary

Aurec Group is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a 3-month contract with hybrid working in Melbourne CBD. The role focuses on stabilizing and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, including Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, Cisco routing/switching, and wireless with Aruba and Cisco WLCs.

Key tasks include BAU operations, ticket troubleshooting, change management, and ongoing health checks to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across the client’s enterprise network.

Qualifications

• Hands-on FortiGate firewall configuration, administration and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience designing/maintaining enterprise Cisco routing & switching.
• Experience configuring Cisco ISE for network access control.
• Proficient with Cisco 9800 Series Wireless LAN Controllers.
• Experience deploying Aruba wireless networking solutions.
• Foundational SD-WAN concepts and exposure to VMware VeloCloud.

Responsibilities

• Drive delivery of core BAU network operations for the enterprise.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve daily technical support tickets to minimize downtime.
• Execute and oversee routine network change management in a controlled manner.
• Perform continuous monitoring and daily health checks of network infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Drive the delivery of core BAU network operations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across the client's enterprise network.

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve daily technical support tickets, acting swiftly to minimize user impact and network downtime.

Execute and oversee routine network change management requests in a secure, compliant, and highly controlled manner.

Perform continuous monitoring and daily health checks on network infrastructure to proactively identify and mitigate potential operational bottlenecks.

Administer and optimize both wired and wireless network deployments to support a seamless user experience.

MORE ABOUT YOU

Proven hands-on expertise with Fortinet security appliances, specifically involving the configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of FortiGate firewalls.

Extensive, practical experience designing and maintaining enterprise-grade Cisco routing and switching architectures.

Demonstrated capability in configuring and managing network access control utilizing Cisco ISE.

Strong background in overseeing large-scale wireless environments, with specific proficiency managing Cisco 9800 series Wireless LAN Controllers.

Solid practical experience in the deployment and administration of Aruba wireless networking solutions.

A foundational understanding of SD-WAN concepts, with introductory knowledge or hands-on exposure to VMware VeloCloud highly regarded.

Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong customer-service mindset and the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced operational capacity.
