Qualifications

• Experience designing and building .NET services with REST APIs and perf tuning using SQL/EF.

• Familiarity with messaging and event-driven architectures in greenfield/brownfield migrations.
• Experience modernising legacy codebases while preserving shipping velocity.

VALE Partners have been engaged by an international SaaS scale-up to help grow their Australian engineering team in Melbourne. The company has established strong product-market fit, and its software is used by world leaders to produce their best work.

This is a hands-on technical anchor role with no direct reports. Your time will be spent predominantly writing and reviewing code alongside the team, with the rest going to architecture decisions, technical direction and mentoring. You’ll be joining an environment that runs on curiosity and reflection. Here, good is treated as a snapshot in time rather than an enduring trait.

Role Overview

• Set technical direction for the move from a legacy MVC application to domain-driven microservices, defining architecture elements such as service boundaries and event-driven workflows
• Write production code in C# and TypeScript

• Set up, test and iterate on agentic development workflows, identifying what works and facilitating adoption by the team

What You’ll Ideally Have

• Experience designing and building .NET services, including REST API design and performance tuning across SQL and Entity Framework
• Experience building performant SPAs using TypeScript and component libraries
• Familiarity with messaging and event-driven architecture in both greenfield and brownfield migration contexts
• Experience modernising a legacy codebase while minimising impact on shipping velocity and performance
• The ability to explain technical trade-offs and decision making to non-technical stakeholders
