Job summary

Dematic in Belrose, Australia, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Global Product and Solutions team. You will design, implement, and test software for logistics tasks and interface with warehouse automation hardware.

You’ll contribute to system integration, database design, and data visualisation while collaborating with engineers across regions. Expect on-site commissioning travels and opportunities to work on diverse, impactful projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering/Mechatronics or similar
• Minimum 2 - 3 years professional software development experience
• Honour Grads with project experience in C# .Net, SQL considered
• Strong proficiency in a programming language (e.g. C#)
• Experience with database systems (SQL)
• Experience with version control systems (Mercurial, SVN)
• Understanding of software development best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Willingness and availability to travel to customer sites throughout the Asia Pacific region during site commissioning stages ( up to 2 months at time )
• Australian Work Rights : PR or Citizenship

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design, implement, and test software solutions for logistics-related tasks.
• Code Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• System Integration: Integrate various software systems and hardware devices to create a cohesive and efficient logistics platform.
• Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit and integration tests, and debug software issues.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for software design, implementation, and deployment.
• Data Visualisation: Assist in the creation of data visualizations and dashboards.
• Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for developed applications.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development and the logistics industry.
