Job summary

APEC Inspection in Newcastle NSW is actively seeking an experienced NDT Technician to join our team and contribute to high-quality inspection services. This full-time role requires certified NDT proficiency and a commitment to safety and accuracy.

You will perform ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant testing, work on pressure vessels, and utilize Phased Array UT or Eddy Current techniques. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Current certification in at least one NDT method (Level 1 or Level 2).
• Experience as an NDT Technician in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Sound knowledge of NDT standards and specifications (AS 2207, AS1171).
• Ability to document tests accurately and communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive testing procedures including ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant testing.
• Inspect pressure vessels and other components; apply Phased Array UT and/or Eddy Current testing where valued.
• Prepare and inspect components according to procedures and industry standards.
• Document and report inspection findings with detailed records of all tests.
• Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure reliable results.

APEC Inspection is seeking an experienced NDT Technician to join our growing team in Newcastle NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to apply your non-destructive testing expertise in a dynamic and professional environment. As an NDT Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of materials and components across various industries. Your work will be essential to maintaining the highest standards of inspection and compliance, directly contributing to the safety and reliability of our clients' operations.

Key responsibilities

Perform non-destructive testing procedures including ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant testing.

Experience with inspecting pressure vessels, as well as proficiency in Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing and/or Eddy Current Testing, would be highly valued.

Prepare and inspect components and materials according to established inspection procedures and industry standards

Document and report inspection findings accurately, maintaining detailed records of all tests conducted

Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results

Interpret inspection results and communicate findings to supervisors and clients in a clear and professional manner

Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, standards, and company policies at all times

Collaborate with other team members and clients to address inspection requirements and project deadlines

Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance testing procedures and efficiency

What we're looking for

Current certification in at least one NDT method (Level 1 or Level 2) with additional certifications highly desirable

Proven experience working as an NDT Technician in industrial or manufacturing environments

Sound knowledge of NDT standards and specifications, including AS 2207, AS1171, and equivalent industry standards

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy in technical documentation

Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues

Proficiency in using NDT equipment and testing apparatus, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management skills

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required
