Job summary

St Jude's Health Care Group is seeking an NDIS Safeguards Coordinator to ensure compliance with NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission requirements, lead incident and reportable incident processes, and support behaviour support compliance.

Based at our West Perth head office with travel to disability service locations across Perth, you will train managers and frontline teams, analyse trends, and drive continuous improvement in safeguarding and restrictive practice controls.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and reportable incidents.
  • Experience conducting investigations and managing incidents.
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and restrictive practices.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review incidents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and manage reportable incidents per NDIS requirements.
  • Conduct and support investigations into serious incidents.
  • Provide guidance and training to managers and frontline teams.
  • Analyse trends, identify risks and suggest preventative actions.
  • Escalate safeguarding and compliance concerns as needed.
  • Coordinate reporting on restrictive practices and compliance with legislation.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports and support QA processes.

Role Summary

As our NDIS Safeguards Coordinator, you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission requirements, leading incident and reportable incident processes, supporting behaviour support and restrictive practice compliance, and driving continuous improvement across our services.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Monitor and review customer incidents for accuracy, compliance, and timely follow-up.
  • Identify and manage reportable incidents in line with NDIS requirements.
  • Conduct and support investigations into serious incidents.
  • Provide guidance and training to managers and frontline teams.
  • Analyse trends, identify risks, and recommend preventative actions.
  • Escalate safeguarding and compliance concerns as required.

Behaviour Support & Restrictive Practices:

  • Monitor Behaviour Support Plans and restrictive practice authorisations.
  • Coordinate reporting and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Identify and address unauthorised restrictive practices.
  • Liaise with Positive Behaviour Support practitioners and operational teams.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports and support Quality Assurance processes.

The role is based at our modern Head Office in West Perth and includes regular travel to disability service locations across Perth.

Skills, Attributes and Experience
  • Relevant qualification and at least two years’ experience in a similar role within the disability services, community or healthcare sector.
  • Sound knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards, reportable incidents, and restrictive practice requirements.
  • Experience with investigations, incident management, or compliance monitoring.
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current National Police Clearance and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current Drivers Licence
