Job summary

Tender Loving Care Disability Services – Ormeau QLD is seeking dedicated Community Support Workers to help participants with social, community and daily living activities, in-home support and specialised transport. You’ll work under guidance and contribute to personalised plans.

Experience in disability care is preferred, with a focus on supporting individuals with complex behaviours, personal care, and community access. A reliable vehicle and licenses are advantageous for timely client travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in the disability sector is preferred.
• Experience handling clients with complex behaviours is advantageous.
• Ability to perform daily personal care and support community access.
• NDIS experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with daily personal care and daily living tasks.
• Assist with social, community and recreational participation.
• Provide in-home support and domestic assistance as needed.

Our Community Support Workers support our participants with social, community & recreational participation, in-home support & daily living activities, specialised transport & domestic support.

Please note: This role has specific client-related requirements, and a male support worker may be preferred. However, we welcome applications from all candidates who meet the required qualifications and experience.

This is the role for you if you have:

An interest in supporting people with disabilities explore their capabilities and reach their potential.

Experience within the disability sector.

At least has an experience in handling clients withcomplex behaviours and personal care.

The desire to share your interests and passions with others.

The ability to manage your own time and work autonomously.

A love for a constantly changing work environment.

NDIS experience highly regarded but not essential.

Qualifications in Disability and or Mental Health highly regarded.

You will be required to:

Perform all duties with professionalism & care.

Work under general guidance from the person seeking support/their family.

Work within clearly defined guidelines

Be responsible for managing your own time.

Be able to work with limited supervision.

Perform activities requiring the exercise of sound judgment, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity.

Support our clients with daily personalcare.

Support our clients with community access.

What we need from you:

An interest in supporting people with disabilities explore their capabilities and reach their potential.

Experience with complex behaviours is preferred, but not required.

Experience providing personal care is a plus.

Experience supporting participants with:

• Restrictive practices
• Medication competency
• A current Blue Card
• A current First Aid Certificate
• A current CPR Certificate
• Own a reliable vehicle
• A Full Driver's License and a Comprehensive Car Insurance

Full availability required to meet client needs (Monday to Sunday, 24/7 roster (day shifts and sleepovers)

Preferred location: Living near Ormeau QLD to allow timely travel to clients.
