Job summary

Brighter Futures Mentoring in Adelaide is seeking reliable contractors for NDIS mentoring and community support roles across the city. These contracts focus on building relationships, confidence and independence for participants.

You will mentor one-to-one, support community participation, and document sessions. Onboarding includes NDIS Worker Screening clearance, Working with Children Check, first aid and appropriate insurances; ABN and coverage for contractor arrangements.

Qualifications

NDIS Community Mentor

Brighter Futures Mentoring | Adelaide SA | Contract

From $53 per hour Weekend rates and travel arrangements agreed separately

Brighter Futures Mentoring is seeking reliable, practical and compassionate contractors for current NDIS mentoring and community support opportunities across Adelaide.

Our work centres on relationships, confidence and independence. We have a strong youth-mentoring focus and are expanding our support for adult NDIS participants. We work with plan-managed and self-managed participants, matching support to each person's goals, interests and needs.

About the work

• Build consistent, respectful relationships through one-to-one mentoring.

• Support community participation, confidence, communication and everyday skills through purposeful activities.

• Encourage participant choice and independence. Follow agreed support and safety plans, maintain professional boundaries and raise concerns promptly.

• Complete factual session notes and accurate delivery records. Provide transport only where agreed and approved.

The focus is community-based mentoring and practical support. Clinical, personal-care or specialist duties are not included without separate assessment and authorisation.

About you

You are patient, dependable and able to build rapport with people from different backgrounds. Relevant experience in disability support, youth work, mentoring or community services is valued, alongside sound judgement and clear communication.

Before commencing relevant duties, BFM requires:

• Verified NDIS Worker Screening clearance; a current SA Working with Children Check suitable for paid work when supporting children.

• Current first aid and CPR for solo sessions. Appropriate licence, vehicle and insurance where transport is required.

• Onboarding, relevant training, referee checks and participant briefings.

• An ABN and appropriate business insurance for the agreed contractor arrangement.

Working arrangements

Weekday contractor rates start at $53 per hour, with weekend rates and travel arrangements agreed separately in writing before work commences. Work is matched to participant needs, funding, location, availability and suitability. Minimum hours are not guaranteed.
