Become a Mentor with Australian Mentoring Services (AMS)
You might know this role as a Support Worker. At AMS, we call our people Mentors, because the role is about so much more than providing support. It’s about empowering people, building confidence, developing skills, creating opportunities and helping someone live a life worth living.
We are an established, NDIS-registered provider of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Participation Support. We support people with psychosocial, neurodevelopmental (including Autism Spectrum Disorder), cognitive and intellectual disability. We’re now recruiting Permanent Part-Time Mentors across Liverpool, Fairfield, Roselands, Southwest Sydney and the Sutherland Shire.
It means getting to know the person, understanding what matters to them and supporting them to work towards their own goals. You’re not there to do everything for someone. You’re there to help them discover what they can do. Sometimes the biggest wins are the little ones.
Experience in disability, mental health, psychosocial support, youth work or community services is highly regarded. Just as important to us is who you are and why you want to do this work.
Recruitment is a two-way conversation. Interviews are held face to face at our Head Office in Campbelltown, where you can meet the team, learn about AMS and ask us anything.
AMS encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability and people with lived experience of mental health conditions.
