Job summary

Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) seeks an Aboriginal Disability Liaison Officer (ADLO) to walk with individuals and families, guiding them through the NDIS and connecting them with supports. The role emphasises trust, advocacy and culturally safe support, working with community and services to reduce barriers and improve outcomes.

You will build partnerships with participants, families and local services, empowering people to understand their plans and achieve their goals.

Qualifications

• Experienced with supporting people with disability and their families.
• Ability to build empowering partnerships with individuals facing complex needs.
• Solid understanding of the NDIS, relevant legislation and community services (or a willingness to grow your knowledge).
• Confident in navigating the NDIS and helping people understand and make the most of their plans.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work alongside Aboriginal community and key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of health issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• A current driver’s licence (essential for this role).
• This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position.
