Job summary

Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) is seeking an Aboriginal Disability Liaison Officer (ADLO) for a part-time role in Albury, NSW. You will walk alongside individuals and families, guiding them through the NDIS and connecting them with appropriate supports.

The role emphasizes trust, advocacy and culturally safe assistance within the Aboriginal community. Ideally you have experience in disability support, strong communication, and the ability to build empowering partnerships with

Qualifications

• Experience with supporting people with disability and their families.
• Ability to build empowering partnerships with individuals facing complex needs.
• Solid understanding of the NDIS, relevant legislation and community services (or a willingness to grow your knowledge).
• Confident in navigating the NDIS and helping people understand and make the most of their plans.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work alongside Aboriginal community and key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of health issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• A current driver’s licence (essential for this role).
• This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
