National WHS & Environment Leader - Transport & Logistics

Job summary

Global Transport & Logistics is seeking a National WHS & Environmental Manager to lead safety and environmental initiatives across Australia and New Zealand. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and guides strategy for multi-site operations including ports, depots and logistics facilities.

The ideal candidate has extensive WHS leadership experience, manages incidents, and ensures compliance with harmonised WHS laws and CoR, with a track record in heavy industry and contractor safety

Qualifications

• At least 10 years' experience in WHS, including at least 5 years in a national or multi-site senior WHS role.
• Port/stevedoring/container logistics/road transport/warehousing or similar heavy industry experience.
• Tertiary qualification in WHS, OHS, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of harmonised WHS laws, Victorian OHS law and the Heavy Vehicle National Law, including CoR.
• Experience managing workers' compensation and injury management.
• Experience leading serious incident investigations and regulator inspections and notices.
• Experience building or improving a safety management system to ISO 45001 or equivalent.
• Experience working with unions/HSRs in an enterprise agreement environment.
